Why should I join the ANA?
The ANA is an association that requires its members to follow strict Codes of Best Practice; this will mean that your agency will be recognised as a reputable company.
This also will give you the opportunity to discuss any issues that may arise with agencies who have had similar experiences. In the near future we are hoping to be able to offer packages for agencies so that they can benefit from discount on insurance, CRB Disclosure etc..
How often will I renew my membership?
Renewals will be due annually on 1st February.

Do agency owners and their staff need CRB Disclosures?
No, it was decided by ANA’s Executive Committee that this is not a requirement of membership, as agency owners are not directly working with children or vulnerable adults.
How long are CRB Disclosures valid for?
We recommend if a Disclosure is over 12 months old the client will be asked if this is acceptable, if not a new Disclosure must be applied for. If the check is over 2 years old the candidate will be asked to complete a new one.
What are policies and procedures?
These are the documents which demonstrate the manner in which you run you business i.e.; how you recruit your nannies, what happens if a client finds the nanny is unsuitable for the position after placed, and equal opportunities etc.
What insurance do I need for my agency?
It is very important to have Professional Indemnity.
How do I agree to the Mission statement and Codes of Best Practice?
We require you to write a letter stating you agree to adhere to both of these and sign it.
What references do I need to supply?
We require two written reference from client’s that you have placed nannies with; you will also need to include a contact telephone number as we will carry out spot checks. If you are a new agency we ask that you provide two written references within the first six months of business.
What happens to all my documents?
The documents we will keep are the application form, the declaration letter, and your written references. The other documents will be verified and then returned to you in the SAE you provide.
